Information on the Final Examination, Math 325
There are 8 questions, each is worth 2.5 points.
Check your
current amount of points here, and see the
Syllabus for the table on how to convert
points into a final grade (there will not be any exemption from the rule
given in this table).
- Find the general solution of a PDE of first order using the geometric
method (i.e, the method of characteristics).

- Transform a given PDE of second order into its standard form and
     determine its type.

- Solve an IVP by "factoring" the operator.

- Solve two IVPs with (a) the wave equation and (b) the diffusion equation
     (on the whole real line).

- Prove a statement concerning eigenvalues of a certain
     eigenvalue problem.

- Find the solution of a certain problem (with the wave equation) by
     finding an appropriate Fourier series.

- Find the solution of a certain problem by separating the variables.

- Approximate the solution of a certain problem by its discretization
(one of the methods discussed in Chapter 8).
