Chapter 7 - Equilibrium of Beams
Objectives
Course objective: To recall how to calculate the shear-force and bending-moment diagrams for beams.
Learning objectives:
- Apply Newton's Laws to solve for a simply-supported (1.25) or cantilever (1.16) beam's ground reactions.
- Draw shear-force diagram for beam.
- Identify maximum shear force (1.21) and its location in beam.
- Determine shear force at a particular location in beam (1.05).
- Draw bending-moment diagram for beam.
- Identify maximum bending moment (1.09) and its location (0.99) in beam.
- Determine bending moment at a particular location in beam (0.83).
