Grading |
Quiz = 10% The quiz will be closed textbook and notebook. Solutions must be complete, well organized and answers clearly marked. Assumptions must be clearly marked and justified. There will be no make up of quiz, assignments or projects; if a quiz/assignment/project is missed for a valid documented reason ("on an interview trip" is not a valid reason) special arrangements will be made. Projects are tentatively scheduled for 10/30, 11/13 and 12/10. Quiz will be one hour in duration. Both individual and team homework will be assigned. Assignments will be announced in class and will follow the schedule. Late assignment will not be accepted. |
Team Projects | The class members will select their teams of not more than three individuals per team. Each team will function to complete assignments. One solution will be submitted for grading and all team members will receive the same grade. If a team member does not participate in the development of the solution, his or her name must not be placed on the submittal form. |
Course Objectives |
Understand fundamental concepts of architectural and building type analysis and apply these concepts toward the successful solution of contemporary building design problems.

AEI STUDENT CHAPTER | Class members are encouraged to become involved with the new UMR Architectural Engineering Institute Student Chapter. Active membership in this group will give additional exposure to the building industry, encourage participation in the national conference and assist in honing leadership skills specific to the industry. |
